Cuestock 2026 Pool Night
FOUR TABLES. A ROOM FULL OF LEGENDS. AND A WHOLE LOT OF CUE ENVY!
Friday night in Brenham, Texas, and what started out as a casual trip to Legends Pool Hall turned into something pretty special.
Imagine walking into your local pool hall and seeing some of the finest cue makers and collectors in the country taking over four tables.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting…
The guys start warming up. Cases open. Out come these beautiful custom cues, some of them worth more than the cars we drove there in!
But don’t let all that admiration fool you…
There was definitely some competition happening!
These guys weren’t just there to show off their cues. They came to PLAY! And you could see that competitive spirit kick in as the games got going. Nobody wanted to lose, especially with a room full of cue makers and collectors watching!
But in between shots, something pretty cool started happening.
Somebody notices what the guy at the next table is playing with.
“Hey, let me see that thing!”
Next thing you know, there’s a small crowd gathered around, admiring the craftsmanship, talking about the wood, the balance, the hit, and the little details most people wouldn’t even notice.
And then comes my favorite part…
They start swapping cues MID-GAME!
One guy takes a few shots with another guy’s cue. Someone else wants to feel how a different cue plays.
And just like that, the competition continues, only now somebody’s trying to beat you with YOUR OWN CUE!
You gotta love it!
There was plenty of friendly competition, a little pride on the line, some good laughs, and a whole lot of mutual respect.
And standing there watching it all, I couldn’t help but appreciate the moment.
Because when the people who CREATE these masterpieces are playing alongside the people who COLLECT them, you’re witnessing something pretty rare.
This wasn’t an exhibition. There were no speeches or presentations.
Just four pool tables, some incredible craftsmanship, some serious competition, and a group of guys who share a genuine passion for the game and the art of cue making.
Sometimes the best moments of an event don’t happen at the event itself. They happen when everyone gets together afterward.
And Friday night at Legends was definitely one of those moments.
Now I’ve got a question for my cue collectors and players…
If you could walk into a pool hall and try ANY custom cue maker’s cue for a few racks, whose would you reach for first?
Drop a name in the comments. I’m curious to see who gets mentioned!
