Description

  • This extremely rare and exquisite Masterpiece is now available for the first time in the marketplace!
  • We are honored to present it at Crossroad Cues
  • It is fresh out of the prestigious private collection of Mr. Bob Price of Sarasota Florida.
  • “Stingray” was made for the 2010 I.C.C.S. Maritime show by the infamous Hall of Fame Master Cuemaker Mr. Thomas Wayne!
  • The best way to truly express this incredible piece of “Functional Art” is by simply quoting the creator who is notably an absolute genius in many respects.
  • In the words of the Cuemaker:
“In the mid nineties, while on a guided dive in off the Mexican coast at Cabos San Lucas, we encountered a school of Stingrays. In the hurricane-darkened waters at a depth of around ninety feet they swirled above, below, and around us, all the while flashing their starky- contrasting bright undersides as they used their entire bodies to fly gracefully through the water. It was an experience I’ve never repeated and never forgotten.
For the 2010 Maritime collection I endeavored to recapture the feeling of that encounter with Stingray. Finding a material to emulate the exact color and texture of the stingray’s hide promised to be a challenge until I stumbled across the uniquely appropriate fossil whale bone used in this cue. All the inlays are true fourth-axis.
In addition to the Fossil Whale Bone, Stingray features Holly, Black Lipped Mother-of-Pearl, Dyed Pearwood, and Antique IV. With an IV butt cap and joint, the cue also features engraved rings on the butt and both shafts, as well as IV ferrules and IV- ringed Joint Protectors.”
